Fahrenheit 451, the burning
temperature of paper. In a realm of existence where books are illegal and
creativity is dead; what does this place, this government strive for in their
society? Ignorance, censorship, and control; that is life in the short story
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. All they ever see from the media are five
minutes skits on the TV walls, nothing of news happening all around them, keeping
the citizens locked in their only little worlds of delusional happy endings and
no sadness.
Hi Kara! This is a fabulous start to your essay, but I still need to see a clear order of development. Is your answer to the question "what does this government strive for?" "Ignorance, censorship, and control", or are those the means through which a world without creativity alleviates sadness and promotes happy endings?
ReplyDeleteBefore you move on, make sure you add at least one sentence that clarifies the sequence that your essay will follow. Thanks and strong work!!
Kara - this is a good introductory paragraph. Now, just make you add an order of development (or map or sequence of ideas your essay will follow in order). Shelby's remark above is right on!
